Hello!

I'm Tami Lynn Ross. I created Observing Participant as a place to share my writing after going back to school to finish my Anthropology degree (an adventure that took 26 years!), as well as my journey as a caregiver for my MIL (who has dementia) while also caring for my daughter as she navigates her own chronic illnesses.

As the mom of a zebra/spoonie I have been observing & participating in the healthcare system in America for some time, and it is an eye opening (often frustrating) experience that informs my interests (read questions) and inspires my advocacy.

I try to question my own bias and think critically (thank you Anthropology training) which means OP represents thoughts, ideas, and opinions I have formed through literature reviews, interviews, school projects, and personal experience.

I also support and fully value the lessons of our lives, and work with families to document their stories via workshops and one on one guidance. You can find more information about that here.
